Most "bars" at the drugstore aren't soap at all — they're syndet bars: synthetic detergents shaped like soap. Sulfates like SLS to make lather, parabens to sit on a shelf for two years, fragrance to hide the chemistry. Every one of those ingredients is chosen for cost, not for what your skin needs.
That's why your skin feels tight the second you step out of the shower. The bar is doing its job — stripping oils. It's just stripping the oils you need along with the ones you don't.
5–15% olive oil. Sometimes less.
If a mass-produced bar puts olive oil on the label, it's usually 5–15% of the formula. Sometimes as little as 3%. The rest is cheaper oils and fillers. "Made with olive oil" is legally allowed at trace amounts. It's a label, not a formula.

We cold-process every batch at low temperatures — which protects the fatty acids, the vitamin E, and the glycerin that big manufacturers strip out. Then each bar cures for a full 30 days.
Glycerin is the humectant that pulls moisture into your skin instead of leaving it dry. In our bars, it stays.
