Hundreds of batches. One laundry room.
Natalie Brooks, on the research behind every bar
Christmas 2020 changed the direction of my life. We had just moved during the peak of the pandemic, and my daughters — anxious about every invisible thing that year — asked for one gift: all-natural beauty products. I assumed finding them would be easy. Instead I researched more than 100 “all natural” handmade soaps and kept finding synthetic preservatives linked to hormone disruption, sulfates that belong in detergents, and cheap fillers — shortening, lard, palm oil.
The research explained my own skin. Years of rashes, dryness, and prescription creams traced straight back to ingredients I had been washing with every single day.
A lifelong friend happened to be obsessed with soapmaking, and she taught me the craft. The mission became mine: the safest bar I could possibly make — vegan, sustainable, zero harsh chemicals. I mixed hundreds of test batches in my laundry room. I burned my hands, arms, and feet on failed recipes. I nearly blew the room up once. My family thought I had lost my mind.
The breakthrough came from two swaps: aloe extract in place of distilled water, and a Gold Brazilian Clay I found at a natural food store — sold for face masks, never used in an everyday bar. I cured that batch a full month, tested it on the red, irritated skin of my own hands, and felt the difference. That bar became the blueprint. Every recipe we pour today descends from it.
Precision is the whole point. Plant oils only — vegan from the very first batch, never lard, never shortening, never palm oil, the cheap filler behind rainforest deforestation. Aloe in every single bar. Clays and botanicals instead of dye. Recyclable, zero-waste packaging. Weighed to the gram, twice, because a recipe that drifts is a recipe that irritates. Five years, 5,000+ bars, and one return later, my daughters’ Christmas request is still the standard every batch has to meet.
Every order packed by hand in Chilliwack — under strict supervision.
“A true testimony to how carefully they have researched and balanced all their natural ingredients. It’s the only soap I use now”

What precision means in a soap bar
42%+ cold-pressed olive oil
In every single pour. Most commercial bars run under 15%. Olive oil carries hydroxytyrosol — a polyphenol studied for calming inflammation markers in the skin barrier.
Aloe extract in every bar
Our brand signature. Aloe polysaccharides help skin hold onto its own moisture — every recipe family gets it, not just the sensitive-skin line.
Weighed twice, to the gram
Cold process is chemistry. Each oil is measured on a calibrated scale, then re-checked before the pour. A soap recipe that drifts is a soap recipe that irritates.
No palm. No parfum. No dye.
Scent comes from natural fragrance oils. Colour comes from clays and botanicals. The ingredient list on the box is the whole story.
Cured for weeks, not days ๐
Handmade in BC and racked until the water leaves and the mildness stays. Commercial bars ship in days — ours wait until they are ready.
Tested on Natalie first
Every batch is used by the woman who made it before it is sold. 5,000+ bars later, we have taken exactly one return.
The blend, honestly
Olive oil leads every recipe we make — never under 42% of the oils in the pot. Around it, a rotating cast by recipe family:
- Coconut oil — the lather builder
- Shea and cocoa butters — the hardness and cushion
- Castor oil — the creamy, stable bubbles
- Seed and kernel oils — chosen per bar (see each product page)
The exact proportions stay our secret — that recipe took years. The full ingredient list is printed on every box and every product page.
Four steps. No shortcuts on any of them.
- 1
Blend
Cold-pressed oils weighed to the gram, twice. Temperature checked before anything meets anything.
- 2
Pour
Small batches, poured by hand into cedar-lined molds. Clays and botanicals go in here — never dyes.
- 3
Cure
Weeks on open racks. Water leaves the bar; hardness and mildness stay. This is the step factories skip — it is the one we refuse to.
- 4
Test
Natalie showers with every batch before it goes on the shelf. If it is not gentle enough for the maker, it never meets a customer.
“Others I’ve tried have been drying/irritating on my sensitive skin but these bars are perfect”
